Probe launched after alleged scuffle ends in fatal shooting

Police are investigating the death of a 34-year-old man who was shot - allegedly by a security guard in Shallcross - near Chatsworth.

Police say they're still probing the exact circumstances around yesterday's shooting but it's believed the guard had been responding to an alert from the home.
Spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala says the homeowner had pressed a panic button.
"A 34-year-old male was fatally shot at Shallcross. He sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. Shallcross police arrested a 34-year-old suspect. He was also charged and will appear at the Chatsworth Magistrate's Court," she says.

In a statement posted on the security company's Facebook page, it says the shooting took place during a scuffle between the guard and the man.
The company says the man had tried to disarm the guard and a shot was fired.
