Probe into cause of deadly Effingham fire

The KZN Human Settlements Department says psychological support will be offered to the family of an Eastern Cape woman, who lost her life in a fire in Effingham in Durban North.

Twenty-nine-year-old Ayanda Ziqethu died when the blaze ripped through an informal settlement in ward 34 on Sunday night.
The department's Ndabezinhle Sibiya says more than 20 people were left homeless.

"There is an ongoing interaction with the family of the deceased.
"The human remains at [the] Effingham informal settlement were removed and [are being] kept at Phoenix Mortuary."
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
