Probe into alleged hit-and-run by Msunduzi vehicle ongoing

Msunduzi says it's looking into an alleged hit-and-run involving one of its vehicles which led to the death of a woman.

The incident is said to have taken place in Willowfontein last month.
The 37-year-old victim is said to have been on her way to fetch her children from a nearby place.
The City's Ntobeko Mkhize says they are also aware of reports by the woman's family that the incident may have been deliberate.
They claim she managed to get out of the way the first two times, but the driver apparently made a U-turn and hit her a third time.
"Currently, the matter is under investigation, and we cannot comment further on that until the investigation has been concluded.
"The outcome of that investigation will also be communicated to the family and other stakeholders involved. Currently, the municipality is cooperating with the police, and that investigation is ongoing."
The municipality has told Newswatch no one has been suspended.
