Private security
experts and investigators say it took them hours to successfully negotiate the
release of four people who were kidnapped in Kranskop in KZN Midlands last
week.

They teamed up with police after an elderly shop owner, his son and two workers were taken from the Gravel Road business premises on Thursday.
Shaheen Suleiman, who is with Magma Security & Investigations, says they were roped in by the family.
Eyewitnesses informed them about what happened.
"They were robbed and pointed with firearms and they were kidnapped, and within hours after that a call of ransom was made to family to say that they want R1 million,” says Suleiman.
She says hostage negotiators took over immediately and engaged with the suspects over a lengthy period.
The victims were rescued in the early hours of Friday.
They were robbed of their phones, and their vehicle was reportedly stripped.

Suleiman says while it was a traumatic ordeal for the victims and their families - they are relieved.
"It was a good feeling, especially when lives on the other side and you are in negotiations for lives. So you put everything into it, we were negotiating for one victim and we eventually got all four victims. So it was an awesome feeling."
Police are investigating cases of kidnapping and carjacking .
