President Ramaphosa pays tribute to King Zwelithini

President Cyril Ramaphosa has offered his sympathies to the Zulu royal family and nation - following the passing of King Goodwill Zwelithini KaBhekuzulu.

The Zulu monarch had been in the hospital for over a month.
He died this morning.
President Cyril Ramaphosa says he's deeply saddened by the passing of the Zulu monarch.
He says the nation had been hopeful the King was recovering well.
Ramaphosa says King Zwelithini will be remembered as a much-loved, visionary monarch who made an important contribution to cultural identity and national unity.

The King's passing follows that of his eldest son, Prince Lethukuthula Zulu, who was found dead in his Johannesburg home four months ago.

The monarch's sister, Queen Noloyiso Sandile of the AmaRharhabe nation, died of COVID-19 in July.
