President Cyril Ramaphosa says that King Dinuzulu kaCetshwayo did not ascend to the thrown to enrich himself.
Ramaphosa joined amaZulu King Misuzulu Ka Zwelithini at the 110th-anniversary commemoration of King Dinuzulu kaCetshwayo yesterday.
Dinuzulu was the king of the Zulu nation from 1884 until he died in 1913.
The commemoration was held at KwaCeza in Zululand.
KwaCeza is where King Dinuzulu launched a decisive attack against colonial forces emerging victorious in Nongoma.
Dinuzulu succeeded his father, Cetshwayo, the last king of the Zulus to be officially recognised as such by the British.
He said that King Dinuzulu embraced those who were like-minded.

Ramaphosa added that the current generation must learn from Dinuzulu's leadership skills. " His wars were all wars for peace and restoration of the dignity of the Zulu Kingdom and its people.
He supported the Bhambatha Rebellion, led by Bhambatha ka Mancinza in 1906, which earned him another prison sentence.
King Dinuzulu did not see the struggle for the freedom of the Zulu nation as separate from the struggle for freedom of all South Africans.
He says that King Dinuzulu did not fight battles of greed and unchecked powers. " In his political liberation journey, he embraced all those who were like-minded, and collaborated with players from diverse backgrounds became his signature.
King Dinuzulu was a non-racialist in his approach to nation-building, he was able to extend a hand to many other races and work with and live with them."
