Pregnant woman among R66 crash victims

It's emerged one of the victims that died in a crash on the R66 between Ulundi and Melmoth was a pregnant woman.
Thirteen people have been killed after a minibus and a truck collided head-on earlier on Wednesday morning.
The minibus burst into flames.

The Road Traffic Inspectorate's (RTI) Zinhle Mngomezulu says paramedics were assessing the victims when they realised one of them was pregnant.
"A mother and infant died on scene. Five other people sustained serious injuries and they were taken to Ngwelezana Hospital."
Mngomezulu says the road has been closed.
"At the moment, we've got RTI, Ulundi and the Regional Commanders from Empangeni region on scene. Traffic is diverted to Empangeni Road. Other traffic has been stacked on scene."
