PRASA resumes operation on Pinetown line

Passenger Rail Agency, Prasa has resumed operations on the Pinetown line after being out of service for two years.
Prasa’s KZN spokesperson Zama Nomnganga’s confirmed they’ll be restarting passenger services brought to a halt by infrastructure theft and vandalism in 2021.
The agency says last year's floods also left the line severely damaged.

Nomnganga says security’s been improved to preserve rail infrastructure and keep commuters safe.
"There are level crossing that we need to obey, especially the motorists also the pedestrian. So far we have spent multi-millions to recover the corridors due to theft and vandalism."
"We need to make sure now that we protect the infrastructure that has been reserved by the government."
