POLL: What's your reaction to Bell Pottinger's ban?
Updated | By Portia Cele
UK-based PR firm, Bell Pottinger now faces a five-year ban from the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA). What are your thought's on the firm's expulsion? Vote below.
The DA last month presented evidence against Bell Pottinger during a hearing held by the PRCA into the firm’s conduct.
The party argued the firm's social media campaigns sought to exploit the race relations in South Africa in its work for Gupta-owned, Oakbay Capital.
The PRCA has ruled that Bell Pottinger is stripped of its corporate membership - and cannot re-apply for at least five years.
Bell Pottinger is however disputing the ruling, saying the majority of its employees and partners played no role in the Oakbay Capital account and have not breached the PRCA code.
CEO, James Henderson has since resigned.
The DA wants Bell Pottinger to disclose all information concerning the account and reinvest all monies from the account back into South Africa.
What are your thoughts? Vote below.
Co-founder and former chair, Lord Tim Bell, sat down with the BBC to speak about the deal - see that interview below.
