KwaZulu-Natal police are on the hunt for the triggermen behind a near deadly shooting - thought to be taxi-related - on the north coast.

A taxi owner was left fighting for his life in hospital, after a shootout at a shop near the rank in Mandeni, yesterday afternoon.
IPSS Medical Rescue says the man was shot multiple times all over his body and taken to hospital under police guard.

SAPS spokesperson, Thulani Zwane says they believe those responsible work at the nearby taxi rank.
"It is alleged that at around 2.20pm, a taxi owner was shot and wounded by unknown suspects. The suspects fled the scene - a case of attempted murder was opened for further investigation," Zwane said.
