A media house has this week been reporting that several people have been arrested in connection with the murders of the rapper and his friend in Durban last month.

The provincial SAPS's Robert Netshiunda says it's concerning that reports and speculation are misleading the public and potentially jeopardising the investigations.

"Such reports also have a potential of putting at risk the lives of the people purported to have been arrested as well as endangering the lives of individuals who are portrayed as police officers in photographs and videos which have been doing the rounds on certain websites and social media platforms."

"Police are appealing for space and time to investigate the matter without undue pressure and unwarranted scrutiny from armchair investigators, analysists and faceless so-called sources who are claiming to be closer to the investigations.

"Police are duty-bound to keep the victims’ families abreast about any developments in the investigations.

Forbes' family released a statement on Wednesday, saying irresponsible actions, accusations and assumptions may cause more harm than good.

They've called on fans to mourn responsibly and to let the police continue with the investigation.
