Police recover body of drowned Inchanga boy

Search and Rescue members have recovered the body of a 12-year-old boy who drowned in a small dam in Inchanga, west of Durban.

.It's understood that the boy was part of a group of children who went swimming in the Sohambanweni area yesterday.
Police say the children were using slabs of polystyrene as flotation devices when the boy fell in and drowned.

Rescue members were called in and the body was recovered yesterday.
Police say the part of the fence restricting access to the dam had been dismantled and stolen.
An Inquest docket has been opened.
