Updated | By Andile Tsotetsi
Police are searching for a suspect linked to a chop shop in Umlazi, south of Durban.

Officers raided the premises on Tuesday.
They found stolen vehicle parts on the premises, including an engine belonging to a vehicle stolen in Pinetown.
A set of number plates linked to another vehicle, hijacked in Berea last September, was also recovered.
The suspect, who had been renting a room on the N-Section property, was not home.

KZN police spokesperson Paul Magwaza says they suspect that several engines found in the shop were tampered with.
"Initial investigation at the premises revealed that the property is rented out to tenants.
"On-scene investigations pointed to the possibility that the suspected person in this matter was conducting vehicle parts sales in the rented premises. All the suspected vehicle parts were seized for further investigations, and the search for the suspect is underway."
