Police probe Reservoir Hills murder

Durban police have opened a case of murder after an elderly man's body was found concealed in a drum.
The 88-year-old Reservoir Hills man was found in the basement of his home last night.
Inkosi Security officers arrived and broke down the doors.
Spokesperson, Rodney Moodley says they were met by a stench and called the Saps Dog Unit.
"We opened it with the Saps Search and Rescue Unit and we confirmed the jersey that the man had been wearing."
Sydenham Saps is investigating.
His hands and legs had been bound.

Another elderly woman, believed be the victim's sister and thought to have been suffering from Alzheimers, was found unharmed on the property.Police say their relatives who live in Johannesburg became worried when they could not get hold of the pair.

They travelled to Durban, but could not get into the property and called for help.Inkosi Security officers arrived and broke down the doors.
Spokesperson, Rodney Moodley says they were met by a stench and called the Saps Dog Unit.
"It took the dogs five minutes to point out a drum. The drum was covered by a lot of timber. We managed to remove the timber and found a body," said Moodley.

He says the drum was closed off with sand and the body was wrapped in a carpet."We opened it with the Saps Search and Rescue Unit and we confirmed the jersey that the man had been wearing."
Sydenham Saps is investigating.
