Police probe discovery of human remains in Toti, Westville
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Police are investigating two separate incidents involving the discovery of human skeletal remains in Durban this week.
On Monday, a gardener came across skeletal remains while working at a house in Amanzimtoti.
Police were called to the house and the remains handed over to them.
In the second find yesterday, municipal workers stumbled upon remains in Westville.
Police spokesperson, Thulani Zwane says members of the Durban K9 Unit were called to the scene.
"When they arrived on scene, they noticed that it was a human skull. It is alleged that the people working in the area, at the place for RDP houses, they saw the skull and called police. The police came and took the skull away. We have opened an inquest for the investigation to establish what happened to this person," he says.
