Police officer arrested in breakthrough in Wentworth criminality

Police have made a breakthrough arrest in connection to ongoing criminality in Wentworth, south of Durban.

They've arrested a 49-year old Warrant Officer stationed at the Wentworth Station on a case of conspiracy to commit murder.
He has now joined five other co-accused who were arrested last month. Jay Naicker is the KZN SAPS spokesperson.

"Following an investigative operation between detectives from the Provincial Organised Crime Unit and officers from the National Intervention Unit the suspect was arrested", he said.
"The warrant officer appeared before the Durban Magistrate Court was remanded in custody until the 23rd of September", Naicker said.
