Two suspects - linked to the murder of Durban father Kelly Chetty - have been shot dead in KwaMashu.
KZN police say investigators working to track down the gunmen, who tried to hijack Chetty's car along Umhlangane Road yesterday afternoon, went to KwaMashu this morning.
A shootout broke out with police near a hostel there.
Police's Jay Naicker says a manhunt for a third suspect who escaped is underway.
"Police chased the suspects into the area. The suspects crashed their vehicle into one of the houses. There was a shootout and exchange of gunfire between police and suspects. At this stage, two suspects were fatally wounded," Naicker said.
