WATCH: Police intervene after EFF disrupts Sasco briefing, targets media

Reporters and Sasco members have been attacked by members of the EFF Student Command outside Durban University of Technology during a press briefing.

Sasco had been briefing the media following the death of 20-year-old student, Mlungisi Madonsela, who died after being shot - allegedly by private security at the Steve Biko Campus yesterday.
The EFF Student Command had held a press briefing earlier.
There is a heavy police presence outside Gate Three of the Steve Biko campus in Durban.

Minutes after the EFF Student Command wrapped up their press briefing on the circumstances surrounding Madonsela's death - SASCO begun addressing reporters.
EFF Student Command members then approached SASCO leaders and asked them what they were doing. One student command member then tried to hit a SASCO leader before targeting reporters.

Police jumped into action and removed the group. Officers have since called for back-up. The situation remains tense at the campus.
