Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
National police have confirmed that they have a suspect in custody who they believe is linked to the Colenso Massacre where 12 taxi operators were killed.
The operators were returning from a funeral of a fellow taxi driver close to Greytown when they were ambushed. Eleven men were killed on scene and another died two days ago.
Spokesperson, Vishnu Naidoo says the man who is in custody was taken in for another crime but officials are confident that the man is linked to the massacre.
Earlier this week, a man thought to be linked to the massacre appeared in a Durban court on charges of possession of ammunition but Naidoo could not confirm if this is the same suspect.
