Police confirm DNA results in Siam Lee case

DNA results have confirmed that the burnt remains found on a farm in New Hanover in the KZN Midlands were in fact those of Durban North woman, Siam Lee.

The police's Thembeka Mbhele says they received the results yesterday.

"The DNA results that we were waiting for - with regards to the body that was found was received were positive. It Is confirmed it is the body of Siam Lee reported missing in Durban North," Mbhele said. 

20-year-old Lee was kidnapped outside a suspected brothel in Margaret Maytom Avenue in early January.

A massive search was launched with residents taking to social media to call for her safe return. 

 Her badly burnt body, identified by relatives, was found two days later.  

Meanwhile, the man arrested in connection with her kidnapping and murder will head back to court next week.
