Police brigadier and husband linked to Bushiri, in court today

Hawks officials say a police brigadier and her husband, nabbed in connection with a probe involving self-proclaimed prophet, Shepherd Bushiri are due to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court today.
They face charges of corruption and defeating the ends of justice.
The 46-year-old brigadier works at the head office for organised crime.
She and her husband handed themselves over to the Hawks after warrants were issued for their arrests yesterday.

Those were in relation to half-a-million-rand allegedly paid to the brigadier.
An inquiry into the matter began in February.
The Enlightened Christian Gathering church leader and his wife Mary fled to Malawi after being charged with fraud and money laundering worth more than 100-million-rand here saying they feared for their safety.
