PMB school counsellor in court for sexual assault charges

The trial of a Pietermaritzburg school guidance counsellor - accused of child rape and sexual assault is expected to get underway today.
He was arrested last year after two parents came forward - expressing concern about the kind of games played during therapy sessions at the primary school.
In January, the councillor was indicted to stand trial on 10 counts of rape and sexual assault.

The National Prosecuting Authority’s Natasha Ramkisson-Kara says this will be the accused's first appearance in the Pietermaritzburg High Court.
The trial will also be heard in the High Court.
