PMB family tells of 'loving' brother killed while helping trucker on N3

A Pietermaritzburg man
says his family is struggling to come to terms with the death of his brother,
who was killed while trying to assist an injured trucker on the
N3.
Breakdown operator Kavish Ramnarayan and Road Traffic Inspectorate officer Zithulele Ntshangase were hit by another truck ploughed into the crash scene near Liberty Mall.
The men had gone to help a driver whose tanker had overturned.
The driver behind the wheel of the second vehicle fled the scene.

Ramnarayan's brother Mark, who also worked with Kavish in responding to collisions in the Midlands, says the father-of-two was loving and helpful.
"There was a friend on the scene who was looking for him and he could not find him when the second accident happened. He called us and said he couldn't find him and then after a while, they found him under the truck.
"Everybody is traumatised and shocked because it happened suddenly, no illness nothing, just taken in a flash."
A paramedic also suffered critical injuries.
