PMB boy, 3, dies after being attacked by pitbull
A three-year-old Pietermaritzburg boy has died in hospital after being mauled by a pitbull.
Netcare 911 says the child was attacked on Monday while standing outside the gate of his home in Glenwood.
Spokesperson, Shawn Herbst says he died of his injuries earlier on Tuesday.
"From the paramedic that was on scene, he says the child did have severe facial trauma.
"The child was bitten in the neck, shoulders and hip area as well.
"Reports from the scene indicated that a three-year-old male had sustained serious injuries and the child was found in a critical condition," says Herbst.
