Pink Drive offers government their services to help with vaccine rollout

A non-profit organisation, the PinkDrive, says it's willing and ready to help government with the administering of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The first consignment of the Oxford University/AstraZeneca jabs landed in the country yesterday afternoon from India.


The shots will be given to 1.2 million frontline healthcare workers as part of the country's phase one of the vaccine rollout strategy.


The PinkDrive, whose primary focus is promoting cancer awareness, has been helping the country's efforts in managing the coronavirus pandemic.

Founder, Noelene Kotschan says they're waiting to hear from the Health Department on their offer to help with the vaccines. 


"We have been deployed since last year. We very active on the ground in KZN, Western Cape and Gauteng. As soon as we knew the vaccine was going to happen, we once again offered our medical staff to assist with the vaccine administration."
