Pinetown teenager impaled by tree branch

A teenager is in hospital after he was impaled by a tree branch in Pinetown.

ER24's Russel Meiring says paramedics were called to Stapleton Road this morning where the incident occurred.

Meiring says the 17-year-old boy was injured in the face and was in a serious but stable condition.

"When paramedics arrived at the scene, they found a teacher standing alongside the 17-year-old boy. It's understood the boy had been walking when he tripped and fell over, landing on the branch," said Meiring.

"He was treated on scene before being taken to hospital for further care."
