Pinetown mob attack: Six suspects face murder charges
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Six men are behind bars for the death of a Pinetown man they allegedly sjambokked this week.
The police's Thembeka Mbhele says the suspects - aged between 20 and 63 - arrived at the victim's Wyebank home on Wednesday night and asked for him.
"He was last seen at the gate - closing the door. He was later kidnapped by a group of people who accused him of stealing something. He was then assaulted and later received by the members of the family. They rushed him to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. A case of murder was then registered. The suspects will be at court on Monday - facing charges of murder," she says.

The SAPS has warned citizens against engaging in vigilantism.
"Instead, they must contact police or call the Crimestop number. They can remain anonymous in that case rather than taking the law into their own hands. That is punishable," she says.
