PHOTOS: Man in critical condition after Newlands West shop set alight

An Ethiopian man's fighting for his life in hospital after his tuck shop in Newlands West was torched while he was sleeping there last night.

A neighbour says she woke to a loud bang and then saw a car pull off and speed away.
She says they also heard the man's cries from inside the store.
Police are investigating charges of attempted murder and malicious damage to property.

This after three people were killed during clashes between locals and foreign shop owners in Soweto earlier this week.
