Updated | By Bernadette Wolhuter
Durban’s emergency services have descended on Sydenham, where a house is alight.

Rescue Care paramedics are amongst those at the scene - on the corner of Shoult Avenue and Rippon Road.
The private ambulance service’s Garrith Jamieson says the house has been severely damaged by the flames but that there are no injuries reported as of yet.
Jamieson says paramedics will however remain on standby, while the Durban Fire Department’s firefighters continue to battle the blaze.
Traffic in the area is severely affected and motorists are advised to use alternate routes if possible.
