PHOTOS: Construction vehicles torched in Manor Gardens

Police are investigating a case of arson after two construction vehicles were torched in Durban's Manor Gardens in the early hours of this morning.

According to police, a security guard who was on duty at a property on Marists Road in Westridge was ambushed by four men at about midnight.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Thembeka Mbele says the four suspects handcuffed the guard before locking him in a storeroom.

They then headed outside where a truck and a TLB were set alight.

The suspects fled the scene in a gateway car.

Mbele says they are working with firefighters to establish what was used to start the fires.


She says no one was hurt during the ordeal. The motive behind the attack is still unclear.
