Phoenix residents to protest over water issues
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
Fed-up Phoenix residents will take to the streets on Saturday to protest against water issues affecting the area in the north of Durban.
The march, led by the Redfern Residents and Ratepayers Association, will start near the Phoenix Highway on Saturday.
The Association's Lenzo Pillay says they plan to hand over a memorandum to officials from eThekwini's Water Department.

Pillay says Reservoir 2 in the area has had little to no water. It's left them with intermittent water supply for months.
He says the city has seven days to respond to its demands.
"We are now engaging in a peaceful march. Failing this, we will then escalate this matter whether it's legal or onto the street. It is one thing when we pay for our services and we are not getting it in return. Service delivery has been a major issue in our municipality. However, without water we cannot do anything."
"There's unhygienic conditions and our officials are not taking us serious enough to at least address this issue."
