Phoenix pupil critical after being shot at school

A school boy has been shot by a former pupil at a high school in Phoenix, north of Durban.

Netcare 911 says the 18-year-old boy and the other pupil had an argument, that turned violent.

Spokesperson Chris Botha says the boy is in a critical condition.
"Paramedics were called out to a school in the Phoenix area, where an 18-year-old boy had sustained a gunshot wound. According to rumours, the boy and another scholar had some arguments between them last year. The one boy then shot the 18-year-old," he said.
Botha says the victim sustained critical injuries, and was transported to a nearby hospital for further care.
Police are investigating.
