The child spent some time in hospital recovering from her injuries.

In court this morning, the prosecution asked for another adjournment to allow for cellphone evidence to arrive back from the Cyber Crime Unit in Pretoria.

But the Magistrate refused to grant the request and removed the matter from the roll.

The Magistrate ruled that the case would be re-enrolled once the investigation is finalised.

Since their arrest over a year ago, the 25-year-old mother and the 22-year-old man have been in an out of court due to numerous postponements.
