PetroSA appoints Russia’s Gazprom to work on refinery

PetroSA has appointed Russian state-owned financier Gazprombank to revive its gas-to-liquid refinery in Mossel Bay.
The decision was approved by the cabinet despite the company being under US sanctions over the Ukraine war.
Nineteen bidders were disqualified, and only Gazprombank Africa was selected as a successful bidder.
PetroSA CEO Sandisiwe Ncemane says they are scaling up the refinery capacity.

"PetroSA welcomes the cabinet's decision announced this morning, which regards PetroSA backed by Gazprom Africa to reinstate PetroSA's liquid refinery capacity, as it enables PetroSA to move forward."
