Performance improvement plan for three KZN municipalities

Local government says Msunduzi, Langalibalele and Mooi Mpofana are the three KZN municipalities that will be taken through its rigorous turnaround strategy.
COGTA's Msawakhe Mayisela says these are three local municipalities they've identified as poor-performing for now.
Mayisela says municipalities where funds are exhausted because of negligence and irregular spending will be slapped with penalties.

During the previous financial year, seven out of 54 municipalities walked away with clean audits. 33 were given unqualified audits.
The province's best performing municipalities are Umzumbe, uMuziwabantu and King Cetshwayo.
