Pentecostal Church collapse victims were from northern KZN: Cogta
Updated | By Sandile Zikhali
It's emerged the 13 church congregants who were crushed to death by a wall during Thursday night’s devastating storm had travelled from three northern KZN towns, outside Empangeni, for the service.
29 other people were hospitalised when a portion of the Pentecostal Church came crashing down.
Co-operative Governance says the church in Dlangubo area in uMhlathuze Municipality has called off its Easter services. COGTA spokesperson Lennox Mabaso says six of the victims were from Ulundi, four came from eSkhawini and three were from Maqhwakazi.
"The people that have passed away - largely come from uLundi, Esikhaweni, and Maqhwakaza. We will be updating on further plans going forward."
