Pedestrian killed by runaway truck crash on the Bluff

A man died following a freak accident in the south of Durban on Tuesday.
The collision took place on Brighton Road near Wentworth Hotel.
Garrith Jamieson of the ALS Paramedics says a truck with a load of bricks crashed into a pedestrian before crashing into a building with no driver inside.
"ALS Paramedics Medical Services arrived on the scene to find that a truck had somehow broke free while being loaded and ran down the road with no driver inside, crashing into a pedestrian before hitting a light pole and coming to rest in a building."

"The pedestrian, a male believed to be in his 30s, sustained major injuries and there was nothing more Paramedics could do for him and he was declared deceased on the scene.
"At this stage, the events leading up to the accident are unknown. However, SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further."
