Seven killed in crash on N1 in Polokwane

Seven people, including two children, have been killed in a car accident on the N1 bypass Polokwane.

Two more people were injured in the crash near the Mall of the North on Tuesday morning.
Limpopo authorities say a sport utility vehicle lost control and collided head-on with a truck.

Fatigue is suspected as a possible cause of the accident.
The road had to be temporarily closed for law enforcement officers and emergency services to attend the scene.
Limpopo MEC for Transport and Community Safety Polly Boshielo urged motorists to obey the rules of the road at all times.
