Pedestrian fatally struck by vehicle near Spaghetti Junction

A man was knocked and killed on the N2 near the Spaghetti Junction on Friday morning.

ALS paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says it's understood at this stage that a bakkie crashed into the pedestrian before smashing into a barrier on the southbound lane.
Jamieson says the driver of the vehicle was unharmed.

"One person a male believed to be in his forties was found to have sustained fatal injuries and there was nothing more paramedics could do for him and he was declared deceased on the scene.
"At this stage, the events leading up to the accident are unknown, however, SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further."
