Parents and pupils shut Umlazi school over teacher shortage

The Department of Education in KZN says its officials are on the ground working to get things back to normal after another school in Umlazi was shut by parents and pupils over teacher shortages.
Teaching and learning were disrupted on Monday at Dloko High School in J-Section.
Provincial education spokesperson Muzi Mahlambi says the matter is being attended to.

"Yesterday (Monday) we immediately sent our officials to go an deal with the matter and we will then get recommendations from what they will have found when going to the school to hear what are the issues."
There were also recently disruptions at the area's King Shaka High School, where pupils and parents protested a move by the principal to bring CPF members on board to help deal with unruly behaviour at the school.
