DA wants ad hoc committee to probe Eskom corruption
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The DA has joined the chorus calling for an investigation into allegations the ANC's involved in corruption at Eskom.
Party leader John Steenhuisen has written to the Speaker of the National Assembly asking that an ad hoc parliamentary committee be set up.
The allegations were made during a TV interview with the power utility's former CEO Andre de Ruyter.
De Ruyter said senior government members were involved in the corrupt activities.

Steenhuisen says the country deserves the truth.
"The allegations suggest that the ANC is systematically sabotaging South Africa’s electricity system to further its own corrupt aims. If true, this is treason an unforgivable betrayal of the country by the governing party.
“Parliament needs to take the lead and institute a thorough inquiry into the full extent of the ANC’s criminal capture at Eskom."
