Parents advised to limit contact of children ahead of school re-opening

With public schools reopening this month, parents and caregivers are being advised to limit their children's contact with people over the next week and a half.

Education officials say all systems, including Covid-19 preventative measures, are in place at schools. 


Over 2,7 million KZN pupils will make their way to classrooms on the 15th of this month. 


Selvan Moodley, the principal of Apollo High School in Durban, says they're ready to welcome back learners.

Moodley's hoping it's a better academic year, " We can't predict whether there will be any disruptions and as far as the academic programme is concerned we already prepared the timetable. 


He says they have plan A, B and C in place, depending on what is in store for us. 


"We also have the system for online lessons, remote learning where learners can't physically be in the classroom. We made learning material available for collection. I think it's going to be a lot different for us this year."
