Overturned tanker closes N3 outside Ashburton
National roads agency, Sanral's issued an urgent traffic advisory for motorists planning on using the N3.
It says the route from Ashburton to Lynnfield Park in KZN has been closed after a tanker transporting liquified petroleum gas overturned.
A 1-kilometre exclusion zone was put in place by fire officials earlier and traffic's being diverted to the R103.

Sanral says motorists travelling between Pietermaritzburg and Durban are being asked to avoid the area - as both the north and southbound routes are shut.
Meanwhile, the agency says emergency officials are working around the clock to reopen the busy route. Traffic is backed up from Durban on the R103 to Maritzburg.
