Over a dozen children hurt after taxi overturns in Reservoir Hills

Sixteen pre-primary school-aged children have escaped serious injury after the taxi they were travelling in crashed in Durban's Reservoir Hills area.

The children were hurt when the vehicle rolled down an embankment in Umgudulu Road.
Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson says no others vehicles appear to have been involved.

"A single vehicle carrying school children somehow lost control and rolled down an embankment. Paramedics found that sixteen pre-primary school children had been injured and more ambulances were immediately dispatched.
"Once the injured were stabilised on scene, they were then transported to various Durban hospitals for the further care that they required. At this stage the exact cause of the accident is not known and we will be investigating further," he said.
Jamieson says injuries ranging from minor to moderate.
