Over 45 000 active Covid cases in South Africa

New Covid-19 infections have thrust South Africa's number of active cases over the 45 000 mark.

The Health Ministry's confirmed an increase of 4 424 infections.
Ninety-three more people lost their lives in the last 24-hour cycle, taking our pandemic death toll to 56 170.

Our recovery rate's dipped again, to 93.8 percent.
The number of people who've taken Covid vaccines in the country has climbed to almost 830 000.
That figure combines the number of jabs administered under the Sisonke programme and the phase two rollout.
As of today the cumulative number of #COVID19 cases identified in SA is 1 649 977, with 4 424 new cases reported. Today 93 deaths have been reported which brings the total to 56 170 deaths.
