Over 152 700 KZN matrics registered for final exams
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
152 746 full-time matric pupils in KZN will sit to write this year's final exams.
This figure has been confirmed by the provincial Education Department.
The department's Kwazi Mthethwa says they are pleased with the figure, adding that they want to see it translate to an overall increase in KZN's pass rate - which they hope will be at 80%.
"We are one of the biggest departments when it comes to numbers. We contribute a lot to the national pass rate. When you see these numbers increasing - it's a vote of confidence to us.
"People travel from other provinces and want to be part of this success," he said.
