Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The number of KZN pupils who will sit for their 2018 final matric exams is expected to be announced today.
Officials are hoping the province's class of 2018 will secure an 80% pass rate. Finals get underway in less than 100 days.
The province's education authorities say at the last count earlier this year, 147 210 full-time matrics were registered to sit for the exams towards the end of the year.
This year, there's pressure on the class of 2018 and educators as the provincial education department is aiming for an 80% pass rate - with much emphasis being on maths and science.
