OR Tambo ‘bomb hoax’ causes flight interruptions
Updated | By Newswatch
Airports Company South Africa says police are working to find the culprit responsible for a hoax bomb threat call to OR Tambo International.
Operations at the airport were disrupted for over two hours and several flights were delayed on Wednesday after claims by an anonymous caller of an alleged bomb threat at the domestic arrivals hall.
Acsa says all passengers and staff were immediately evacuated from the area.

But it later emerged that there was no reason for concern, and the hall was declared safe after seven in the evening.
The management group says while investigators probe the motive for the bomb scare, security personnel at OR Tambo will remain on high alert.
