He's been speaking at the Durban University of Technology where the league hosted a dialogue on Capital Monopoly versus Economic Freedom.

In a series of tweets that've been denounced by the opposition party's top brass, Zille claimed that not every aspect of colonialism was negative saying people should, "think of our independent judiciary, transport infrastructure, piped water etc."

While Sabelo's acknowledged that the DA's investigating the matter - he's called for tough action.

"You call yourself a South African that loves humanity but you glorify a regime that stopped black people from going to school. This was a regime that said you can't study at DUT, you must go to the University of Zululand and study to be a teacher, a lawyer or a nurse," he said.

Senior members of the DA have distanced themselves and the party from Zille's comments - while the ANC and the EFF want her stripped of her premiership.
