Opposition calls on ANC to suspend arrested official
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
Local opposition parties want heads to roll
following the arrest of a senior ANC official
in eThekwini for alleged
traffic offences.
The ANC's regional secretary, Musa Nciki, and his bodyguard, Ivan Khoza, were arrested on Umhlanga's Lighthouse Road on Wednesday.
They appeared in court on Thursday, facing a number of charges, including reckless driving and disregarding a red traffic signal.
The pair was released on bail of R5,000 each and are due back in court next month.
The EFF's Provincial Secretary Nkululeko Ngubane believes the ANC should suspend Nciki.
"The ANC must put him on step aside as they did with Zandile Gumede and all associates."

The IFP's Chairperson Mdu Nkosi says it's unfortunate,
"As leaders we need to guide against wrong things, and one thing is asking ourselves is what are the challenges that made them to cross the robot. Were they under threat? We are not sure. The incident shows that no one is above the law."
